Spotlight EAP: Introducing Japan Space Imaging

SatVu is launching the world’s first constellation of high-resolution infrared imaging satellites. Delivering a first-to-market, space-based solution to enable governments and commercial organisations to tackle the environmental impact of modern life through the use of high-resolution infrared tasking data.

Ahead of the launch, 66 organisations have committed to harnessing the unique power of infrared imagery by signing up to our Early Access Programme.

As early adopters, these organisations enjoy preferred access to our high-resolution infrared tasking imagery and the opportunity to secure valuable capacity on the inaugural satellite.

Our Spotlight EAP Partners series will showcase these businesses and the innovative products and services they offer.

In this edition we learn about Japan Space Imaging Corporation (JSI). Founded in 1998, JSI provides image data captured by Earth observation satellites to businesses.

Introducing Japan Space Imaging

Japan Space Imaging Corporation is a pioneer of satellite remote sensing commercial services in Japan, serving satellite data and services such as 3D imagery, base maps and imagery analysis to a wide ranging customer base.

Joining SatVu’s EAP

Having signed up to our Early Access Programme and accessed the exclusive image archive, JSI will be using our infrared imagery to help their customers understand thermal data and how it can benefit them.

As a satellite data services provider, Japan Space Imaging can provide insightful solutions through a combination of thermal data and other sensor data. For example:

  • Suggesting thermal data to industrial plants that use cooling water.

  • Providing proof of concept to governments managing river embankments.

  • Making local governments aware of vacant houses in their jurisdiction through thermal data.

Climate Talk

In the current climate, there is a high-priority need to reduce CO2 emissions, globally. The team at Japan Space Imaging understands this, and know that there is a demand from business for measures that provide accurate and timely data to better understand the performance and sustainability of their assets.

The infrared data provided through SatVu’s high-resolution infrared imagery provides an incredible opportunity to establish a long-term, sustainable solution to the current climate crisis. In addition to this, the trend for sustainability creates a huge business opportunity for JSI, with governments and commercial organisations increasing the budget to achieve sustainable goals.
