SkyFi, an AI-first Earth intelligence platform, today announced the integration of SatVu, the British decision-grade thermal intelligence company.
SkyFi customers can now access SatVu's archive and task new thermal captures from its HotSat constellation of satellites directly in the SkyFi platform.
SatVu's satellites capture mid-wave infrared (MWIR) imagery at 3.5-meter resolution, day or night, with an accuracy of 2 Kelvin and a precision of 0.2 Kelvin. Thermal imagery measures heat emissivity. At 3.5m resolution, HotSat data resolves activity at the asset and subcomponent level - which no other commercial thermal sensor currently operational can do. HotSat imagery indicates whether an individual turbine is running, a generator is active, a gas flare is burning, or a power plant is discharging cooling water. That gives analysts a direct read on activity at a site at the time of collection.
"Day or night, thermal imagery tells customers whether a facility is operating and at what capacity," said Luke Fischer, CEO of SkyFi. "SatVu captures thermal data at a resolution fine enough to see individual industrial assets. Additionally, for the first time ever, commercial thermal imagery can be used to confirm wildfire front position and direction of movement at a resolution that’s of immediate use to first responders. Our customers can now combine this thermal intelligence with optical and radar imagery from the same platform and the same order flow within SkyFi, giving them greater insight into their areas of interest."
"SkyFi gives a broad base of commercial and government users immediate access to our thermal intelligence data layer and the ability to seamlessly integrate that data into their existing workflows alongside SAR and EO data", said Anthony Baker, CEO and co-founder of SatVu. "With HotSat-3 now in orbit alongside HotSat-2, we are expanding capacity at the same time we are expanding access to industry-leading thermal intelligence at scale."
What SkyFi customers can access
- Archive imagery: search and order existing HotSat thermal scenes from HotSat-1 and HotSat-2.
- Standard and Assured tasking: schedule new HotSat-2 captures over any area of interest. HotSat-3 tasking is expected to come online in early 2027.
- Smaller orders: scenes of approximately 16 km², sized for single facilities and sites.
- Flexible delivery: order through SkyFi's web platform and AI Navigator, mobile app, API, or the SkyFi MCP from AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT.
Use cases
- Energy and industry: confirm whether plants, refineries, and LNG terminals are active at the asset and sub-component level, and at what capacity, and track flaring and cooling discharge.
- Economic monitoring: gauge activity at factories, ports, and data centers by measuring Surface Brightness Temperature of operating equipment.
Defense and security: detect running vehicle and vessel engines and active generators, including at night.
- Climate resilience: map surface heat across cities and infrastructure to support planning. Detect and monitor wildfire activity.
SatVu adds industry-leading high-resolution thermal to a SkyFi catalog that spans optical, SAR, hyperspectral, and stereo imagery from more than 300 satellite and aerial sources.
- Constellation growth
HotSat-2 began commercial operations in June 2026. SatVu launched HotSat-3 on Oct. 1, 2026, aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission. Once commissioned, HotSat-3 will double SatVu's collection capacity. HotSat-4 and HotSat-5 are in production.
Availability
SatVu imagery is available today on SkyFi with published pricing and no long-term contract. Learn more and order at app.skyfi.com.
